Neighborhood Improvement Program
|
How the program works
Neighbors get together and order a load of a product.
IE; 3/4 base rock to improve a number of driveways, our driver
delivers a small amount of product in each driveway. The lift fee
(raising the bed to dump the product) is free for the first two
driveways per load and $5.00 per driveway after that
Neighbors armed with rakes, shovels, and a good sense of humor
follow the truck from each driveway spreading the rock and
goodwill to a level finish. (Or you put the neighborhood kids to
work. This does not guarantee level but it does guarantee
interesting while helping to develop a sense of community in our
youth)
Often times a small skid steer is rented by a qualified neighbor to
smooth the product more quickly.
Basic Rules
1. Each load must be delivered in one linear block.
2.One neighborhood representative is responsible
for collecting and making payment for the initial delivery and
product.
Lift fees can be paid at this time or by each individual homeowner.
3. A free estimate is required prior to ordering. This is necessary in
order for us to check for low limbs power lines and other potential
visible hazards prior to delivery.
4. We recommend that Dig-Rite is contacted prior to delivery to
avoid damage to buried lines.
5. Be ready for the delivery
In order for this program to succeed we must utilize our equipment
and fuel as efficiently as possible. Have vehicles and other objects
moved out of driveways etc. If you live on a narrow street inform
neighbors that you are expecting a delivery and ask if they can
park in another area or be ready to temporarily move their vehicle
off the street so we can position the truck to safely back in.
6.Be aware of where your children are.
Children are always fascinated by our trucks and sometimes want
to get a little closer than is safe. We encourage our young
audience to view all the fun from the porch or standing next to a
more visible adult.
Whenever time allows and with parents permission we allow young
people to climb up in the truck and look at all those COOL Gauges
and answer their questions on what they do.
PLEASE NOTE . Due to the nature of each product we cannot
guarantee each neighbor will get exactly the same amount of
product in each yard!
TOPSOIL
Topsoil does not pour out of the truck like gravel therefore we ask
that there is one centralized location per load for the topsoil to be
delivered. We recommend that a small skid steer be rented by a
qualified individual or a garden tractor with a small blade to deliver
the product to the home owners.
FUND RAISING
Top soil is also a great fund raising project for youth groups or
your neighborhood organization who then resell the soil by five
gallon buckets, Skid steer buckets or wheel barrels full . Delivering
it to each customer and putting it into the appointed area for the
homeowner. This is also a great way to offset the cost of other
neighborhood improvements.
BCR Earth Movers recognizes that often times individuals in
neighborhood settings all need a smaller quantity of the same
product such as gravel for driveways a load of top soil for flower
beds etc.. The individual cost of delivery can be financially
prohibitive to many homeowners. To offset this cost we have
developed a neighborhood improvement program to help neighbors
help one another by ordering together and consolidating buying
power while neighborhood moral, sense of community and
property values are solidified.

associations or for information on
how to start your own
BCR Earth Movers asks that neighbors remember the elderly during these projects.
All to often in this day and age they are accidentally overlooked. Community projects are a
great time for them to participate in their community and to share their knowledge of
planting, planning, landscaping and so much more.
Take care of one another,
BCR Earth Movers
